Yummy yummy in your tummy (not mine!)

I was reminded of this wonderful video on a French forum, and now I feel obligated to post it... for all the junk food fans (if there are any left):

Iron and Wine

Just thought I would mention one of my favorite artists, for once: Sam Beam, the man behind Iron and Wine. I have been listening to his stuff so much lately, and it's so beautiful, it feels unfair not to share with those of you who don't know about him yet! ;)

Sam Beam is a true gentle soul, a whisper in your ear; a soft, mellow voice and a gorgeous acoustic guitar. Words of hope and melancholy, of the beauty of simple things. So uplifting, yet so poignant. You finish an album with the thought "wow, we need more people like him"...

He has a new album out, called The Shepherd Dog, but I wanted to post the lyrics to one of my favorite songs of his, from the album Our Endless Numbered Days.

- Passing Afternoon -

There are times that walk from you like some passing afternoon
Summer warmed the open window of her honeymoon
And she chose a yard to burn but the ground remembers her
Wooden spoons, her children stir her Bougainvillea blooms

There are things that drift away like our endless, numbered days
Autumn blew the quilt right off the perfect bed she made
And she's chosen to believe in the hymns her mother sings
Sunday pulls its children from their piles of fallen leaves

There are sailing ships that pass all our bodies in the grass
Springtime calls her children until she lets them go at last
And she's chosen where to be, though she's lost her wedding ring
Somewhere near her misplaced jar of Bougainvillea seeds

There are things we can't recall,
Blind as night that finds us all,
Winter tucks her children in, her fragile china dolls
But my hands remember hers, rolling around the shaded ferns
Naked arms, her secrets still like songs I'd never learned

There are names across the sea, only now I do believe
Sometimes, with the window closed, she'll sit and think of me
But she'll mend his tattered clothes and they'll kiss as if they know
A baby sleeps in all our bones, so scared to be alone...

Scottish Wildcats

Click here to visit the Scottish Wildcat Association website

A fascinating species, on the verge of extinction... The website is very instructive, and the cats truly gorgeous and awe-some.

Chomp chomp chomp

I wish I could make longer videos with my crappy little camera... I could have had one instead of those two.

Anyhow... whoever said cats should eat kibble?!
